The Winter 2020 #TextbookBroke campaign ran January 20-24 in five University of Ottawa library locations: MRT, RGN, FTX, DMS, and CRX (floors 2 and 5). We collected a total of 184 notes which indicated the amount of money students spent on their textbooks, as well as an array of comments and opinions.
Many students expressed their displeasure at the amount they pay for required course materials and others revealed their "thrifting" methods like resorting to the library's resources or illegal downloads.
Surveyed students spent an average of $309.35 this term for their course materials.
Check out the results for the Winter 2020 term below!
We would like to thank everyone who took the time to participate and spread the word about the Winter 2020 #TextbookBroke initiative!
